A unique collection of books on moral education
By now, the turn of the millennium, few people can doubt that the future of humanity is to be found in friendly co-operation among various peoples and countries. The moral and creative building blocks essential to this harmonious and peace-seeking society must be developed from childhood. This means that we must concentrate our attention on developing our children's potential for self-realisation, their ability to serve others and to find happiness in that service.
We have compiled the book for teachers and parents who believe that teaching morals is the foundation of any system of upbringing or education. We say "teaching" because only such purposeful and systematic activities can act as a real force for educating a child's character.
These activities should take the form of conversations filled with trust and friendship, whose goal is not to impose some moral value on the children, but rather to help them comprehend that a moral approach to life is the basis for human social development and for happiness in their individual lives.
The lesson materials consist of stories for kids, games, questions for discussion and creative tasks all intended to help the child internalise the ideas on a deep and personal level.
The materials in the books for children are not intended for just one age group; they may be used with children from 5 to 17 years old. Details of the lesson plans can be adjusted as necessary to take into consideration these age differences.
In our work we have devoted particular attention to the selection of stories for kids, as we believe that these stories and fairy-tales are the most effective means for reaching out to the child's heart and mind. The stories collected here are intended to teach virtues in a natural, unimposing way. The games, tasks and discussions which accompany the stories are designed to develop the child's creative potential, and are organised in such a way that the children learn to draw, express their thoughts, work in groups and act out skits as part of the process of assimilating any particular virtue.
For this moment many teachers are thinking how to find the new and effective ways in the whole process of education. In our books we tried to show how it is possible to teach the concrete school subjects like art, nature, alphabet, mathematics etc. based completely on spiritual materials.
All stories, fairy-tales, tasks and games in these books are reflecting real scientific facts and at the same time each they have a spiritual and moral meaning. So, on the one hand teachers are giving information to children, on the other hand children are receiving moral education in its very natural form.
